Meston Reid & Co is registered under the Data Protection Act 2018 reference: Z48342138 and Michael J M Reid, a partner in the firm, is the data controller with responsibility for managing the firm’s compliance with the Act.
The firm will process/retain all data provided only for the period that relates to the process relating to the consideration of an application i.e. reviewing a CV, conducting an interview and considering whether to offer a contract of employment.
All data is held for the specific purpose of reviewing a job application. Electronic data is held on the firm’s server, which may not always be located within the EEA and data security responsibility is contracted to the firm’s external IT consultant. Paper files are held securely within the office.
For the avoidance of doubt, personal data is not made available to any third party and the firm has established appropriate security measures to prevent personal information from being lost accidentally, used/accessed in an unauthorised manner, altered or disclosed. Access to personal information is limited to those who have a business need to know and have agreed in writing to observe the firm’s strict policy of confidentiality.
Anyone concerned about the use of information held by Meston Reid & Co has the right to lodge a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK Supervisory Authority for data protection issues www.ico.org.uk.
Should an application not be progressed to a contract of employment, all data concerning such applicant will be destroyed by the firm in a secure environment. An applicant can request written confirmation of this from the data controller.

Corporate/Personal Insolvency Administrator
An opportunity has arisen with the insolvency department of Meston Reid & Co where you will be dealing with both corporate and personal assignments.
- Management and administration of a portfolio, under supervision, of numerous cases which will include a variety of corporate work and personal insolvency.
- Maintain fully accurate case files, ensuring they meet with statutory requirements.
- Preparing reports and attending meetings.
- Monitoring cash/bank accounts.
- Preparing statutory returns and VAT returns.
- Effective communications with a range of stakeholders, creditors, debtors, directors, solicitors and other professionals.
For the right applicant we offer full training and support will be provided. Previous insolvency experience would be helpful but applicants are welcome from a range of similar backgrounds. You will be challenged in this role and be given responsibility at an early stage.
What we are looking for in the ideal candidate includes :
- Previous case administrator experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Competence using MS Office applications.
- A CPI qualification : desirable but not essential.

Meston Reid & Co are looking to recruit a school leaver who may prefer to enter the job market straight from school rather than attend further education.
The role will involve a variety of accounts preparation work, principally involving farming and landed estate clients, and on the job training will be provided.
